Sushi Ippei
Authentic local sushi can be found at Sushi Ippei. For a price range of 1000 – 3000 yen it is the most affordable Sushi place in town. But don’t let that give you the impression that its cheap and inferior; Ippei rivals any other restaurant in the city.

This izakaya is an excellent place to go if you want good rustic local food, in quantity and not at an exorbitant price. Prices for platters of Tempura or Sashima range from 1500 – 2000 yen. Make sure you try the home-made ginger ale, but be ready for it to knock your socks off.

Tsubajin
The ultimate in extravagance in Kanazawa dining is the venerable Tsubajin (where government officials and celebrities have gone for hundreds of years). With lunches over $150 USD each and dinners starting at $240, its hard to imagine how anyone but politicians and celebrities could indulge in such a splurge.
